    1. Perform assigned responsibilities while maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance
    2. Utilizing the "7 steps of Cleaning" in all areas
    3. Clean work cart
    4. Complete all necessary pantry sanitation
    5. Stock storage areas as required with supplies and linen
    6. Appropriately store supplies and equipment at the end of the shift
    7. Dispose of trash and cleans waste receptacles on the unit
    8. Complete cycle cleans and project work as indicated on duty list per assigned prescribed methods
    9. Identify and report minor repairs to the appropriate departments
    10. Scrub and burnish floors with appropriate equipment
    11. Vacuum and shampoo carpets.
    12. Strip and refinish hard surface floor
    13. Transport waste from utility rooms and other collection points
    14. Cycle clean ceiling and walls
    15. Cycle clean induction units, light fixtures and windows
    16. Measure and mix cleaning chemicals
    17. Complete terminal cleaning and between case cleaning Surgical or procedural areas
    18. Must be able to complete all steps of the Housekeeping upon Request process, including:
    19. Acknowledge and greet coworkers, management team, customers and guest in a friendly and welcome manner
    20. Turns over unoccupied beds by logging into the bed in Bed Tracking, Completing discharge clean per procedure and logs out of bed upon completing utilizing the phone in the patient room
    21. Maintains confidentiality of patient and unit data per HIPPA regulations
    22. Follow established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, environmental and infection control standards
    23. In case of fire or other internal disasters, assists in evacuating ambulatory patients and residents to exits
    24. In of case of community disaster assists nursing in making up extra beds and other duties as assigned
    25. React in a positive, congenial and appropriate manner to customer request
    26. Maintain clean, fresh and pressed uniform
    27. Participate in EVS related evaluations
    28. Perform verbal and/or written assigned EVS task
    29. All other related duties as assigned


  1.  High school diploma or GED
  2. Minimum two years of housekeeping experience is required
  3. Minimum 1 year of floor care experience is required
  4. Must be able to interact appropriately and professionally with coworkers, customers and guests
  5. Must be able to read, write, and speak English at a level, which allows the safe and efficient performance of the job
  6. Must be certified in the use of Ecolab chemicals and associated cleaning processes
  7. Must pass a pre-hire physical examination
  8. Must pass a pre-hire and spot drug screenings
  9. Must provide proof of legal status to work
  10. Possess congenial interpersonal skills and communication skills
  11. Be open to new learning experiences
  12. Physical ability to lift, push, pull and/or squat a minimum of 50 pounds, able to stand and walk 90% of work period and able to walk stairs negotiate uneven surfaces
  13. Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors
